Hey guys,
It’s been way too long since I last published a post and I guess it’s because I wasn’t motivated enough.
There’s too much pressure and drama going on in the blogging world for a small blogger like me to stay motivated.
However, that’s all (hopefully) going to change in this new year. New year, fresh start right?
I remember when blogging used to be about posting what you love and not caring if anyone read it. I remember reading blogs to get an honest opinion on a beauty product and fashion hauls. I also remember wanting to start a blog because I loved reading blogs so much. I then started my blog Elizabeth’s Beauty and shared my outfits and reviews of products I genuinely loved.
I know there are still bloggers out there that still blog cause they love it and are genuine. For me, as a blogger and sometimes blog reader, I find that I can’t trust as many bloggers as I used to. It’s sad to know that the reputation bloggers once had isn’t there anymore. I despise that it’s all about numbers now instead of genuinely giving your honest opinion on things you buy yourself and not caring about how many views it gets. Don’t get me wrong, it’s always nice to know how many people have read a post or checked out your blog.
I do want to note though, that I don’t agree on spreading hate towards certain bloggers because if they are doing what people are saying they’re doing then we need to take a step back and analyse it because with social media there’s this constant pressure of always looking good and having nice things. (I’ve felt the pressure).
These bloggers could be dealing with something none of us know about, so please remember that before you write or say something. We are all humans. However, one thing I do agree on is that it is affecting the younger generation and their idea of what you should look like etc. I do agree that this isn’t healthy but the parents of these young girls/boys should have a responsibility to educate their children. We, unfortunately, can’t regulate every post every single blogger puts up. I think moving forward, every blogger should take responsibility with every post they publish. That they should portray themselves and their personalities as they actually are. Also, if they did get something done to their face/body own up to it. You did it because you wanted to and it is your body-be proud of your decision. Have some conviction.
I’ve contemplated quitting blogging because it has just gotten way out of hand but then I remembered why I started blogging..
So, I am bringing it back to basics. Posting what I like when I like and not caring if anyone reads it (If you do read any of my blog posts-thank you!). I’ve always posted about things I like in my way anyways so why quit.
If you are reading this, I hope you enjoy and get inspired.
Oh, also I have decided to not buy one single clothing, shoe or accessories item this whole year. I’m doing this because I have found that I bought a *hit tonne last year without needing to because I’ve so much clothes! Of course socks and underwear don’t count because they are necessities.
At the start of last year I did a goals list of what I hoped to do in 2017 and to be honest I didn’t achieve all of what I had hoped. However, that is ok. We are human. One thing I am proud that I stuck to it and did a good bit of was my photography and I hope to continue to do more this year. If you would like to check out my photography portfolio then click here Also don’t hesitate to contact me if you would like to collaborate ❤
So this year, I am just going to be focusing on:
- Going back to basics with my blog
- Save money and stop spending
- Shoot more fashion and portrait photography
- Take care of my mental and physical health
- Do more of what you want to do.
So there you have it. I hope this year brings you lots of joy and don’t forget to be kind and gentle with yourself.
I love this attitude – this is when you find your true followers who like reading what you love writing about!

Love this Ana! I unfortunately feel a little the same about blogging and bloggers and nothing being real anymore.
I have yet to publish my first blog post as I’ve been unmotivated to finalise it and put it out here. This year I want to work on self love and self belief and your post is perfect to remind me to do just that and keep going. xxx 💋LLC
